INTRODUCING…Nicole Younger!INTRODUCING…Nicole Younger!

We are excited to announce our new VISTA CIA, Nicole Younger! Miss Younger joined us at LCCC in December, 2017. Nicole holds a Master of Science from the Kent School of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor concentration in Sociology from the University of Louisville. Her background includes working with youth and young adults to improve social and emotional behavioral outcomes for various non-profits. Nicole is excited about the opportunity to impact programs at LCCC that will benefit the families of Russell. Nicole’s dream is to expose counseling and support services to families that have limited access to resources.

VISTA, Volunteers in Service to America, is a branch of the My AmeriCorps program. The Community Impact Ambassadors (CIAs) at LCCC build capacity for programs and initiatives in areas of: (a) Quality Early Child Development. (b) High School Graduation, College and Career Readiness for school-aged youth; (c) Innovative Work Ready Skills Training and Employment Services for adults; and, (d) Business Development and Job Creation in the Russell Neighborhood.

We are recruiting more VISTA CIAs to take part in this very meaningful work. The program provides a living allowance, education stipend, childcare assistance, and other fringe benefits. If you or someone you know is interested in this opportunity for professional development and service, please email your resume and letter of interest to Patricia Williams at pwilliams2@lcccnews.org, or call for more information, (502) 583-8821.
