Louisville Central Community Centers (LCCC), Inc. and partners invite entrepreneurs, community stakeholders, resource providers, and individuals considering starting a business to attend The 3rd Annual Economic Mobility Summit. The 2019 Economic Mobility Summit: POWER UP will be held on Friday, October 25th from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Old Walnut Street Family Strengthening Center, 1300 West Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40203. This is event is a part of LCCC’s strategic plan and delivered through the support of sponsor-partners, Community Foundation of Louisville, Louisville, Metro Housing Authority, McCormack Baron Salazar, Metro United Way, Papa John’s, and Pit Barrel Cooker Company.

 Attendees can expect a power-keynote presentation from rising entrepreneur, Diamond Shirley Alexander, Owner and Principal Broker of Diamond Key Realtors. “At Diamond Key Realtors, my mission is to educate and shift the mindset so that everyone can see the power in equity and investing,” says Diamond.

The day includes breakout workshops lead by industry experts in mobilizing a business idea, accessing capital, franchising, and real estate investment. The summit will conclude with a power-panel discussion wrap up and a business showcase.

This session will answer questions for those who may have a business idea but don’t know what to do next. It will also provide valuable information and tools for those who have a young business and want to maximize opportunities for success. Participants will walkaway knowing how to develop a lean startup and with a tangible, working, business model canvas. Please bring all notes and/or materials related to your business concept.

Are you ready to take your business to the next level but are unsure how to go about applying for business loans? This session will provide all the details you need for accessing funds to propel your business forward. Key topics will be building banking relationships, knowing your industry, non-traditional financial partners and stackability, preparing financial documents, and a lender speed dating activity. Access to Capital – Knowing Your Business – Alternative Options


Franchises offer the independence of small business ownership supported by the benefits of a big business network. There is a successful model already in place that can be leveraged. This track will provide information on where to start, what is needed, and why finance negotiations can be easier. This track will also include testimonials from entrepreneurs who have chose the franchise model.

This track will provide information regarding the latest real estate opportunities and new developments. They will provide case for purchasing real estate as a component of wealth creation. In a panel-style format, experts will answer many of the most critical commercial real estate questions. Some of the topics include; understanding leasing options, contracts, site identification, and risk management.
