Louisville Central Community Center proudly partnered with Kentucky Humanities\’ Prime Time Family Reading Time program this Spring! This FREE program included: FAMILY BONDING! Storytelling! A mini library of books! FREE childcare! FREE transportation! Door prizes! and DINNER!
LCCC conducted a six-week reading, discussion, and storytelling program to encourage the development of a lifelong love of reading within families. Families enjoyed engaging in family-based reading and discussion on topics such as fairness, courage, and dreams. Prime Time\’s discussion strategies help increase creativity, critical thinking, and academic success. Our families kicked off their shoes, brought blankets, engaged in a great story, and enjoyed a great meal. Special thank you to our caterers who assisted in providing our families with delicious meals each week: Still Winning Kitchen and ForkDive.
Our Prime Time program operated every Tuesday, beginning April 18th and came to an end May 23rd. We appreciate those families who participated in our first Prime Time Family Reading program. We look forward to conducting this program again in the Fall and serving even more families, increasing reading skills for children, and equipping parents with the resources to support their growing readers!
