By Kierra Harbin, Youth Education & Fine Arts Coordinator
After nearly a 6-month hiatus, LCCC returned with its signature youth program, Kids Arts Academy (KAA). KAA engages youth, ages 6-18, in arts activities including but not limited to music, dance, drama, and theater. KAA’s spring program began Monday, March 6th and ended Wednesday, May 17th, operating 4 days out the week from 4-6 PM. Students participated in fun, interactive, and engaging activities during this time.
This season we partnered with Ms. Ashleigh Morton for Visual Arts. Children made watercolor paintings, tie dye shirts, clay figurines, and much more! We also partnered with the Destined Dance Company, where children learned both African dance and African drumming. We greatly appreciate our partners for engaging our youth in interactive activities that allowed them to perfect old skills, while being introduced to new skills.
Thank you so much to our families for being a part of our youth programs and trusting LCCC to continue to deliver quality programming.
Stay tuned for what’s in store for our 2023 Summer STEAM Camp, as well as our After School programs beginning in the Fall!
