Yet another spark of brilliance from PNC Bank’s Regional President, Chuck Denny, has spurred a new collaborative venture between LCCC and the newly emerging 1804 Entrepreneur Center. During July’s meeting of the PNC Louisville Community Advisory Council, Chuck asked LCCC’s CEO, Kevin Fields, if he knew anything about Brit Fitzpatrick and the 1804EC. Chuck’s instincts were that LCCC and 1804EC should connect and somehow find ways to collaborate. He was absolutely right! Since then, LCCC and 1804 EC have become acquainted and have agreed to explore several collaborative ventures.
1804EC is a bi-state entrepreneur center supporting early-stage startups throughout Louisville and southern Indiana. Brit Fitzpatrick, the firm’s business development and marketing manager, was named by American Express as one of America’s “Top 50 under 40” social business leaders. “Her talent and impressive business leadership were on full display from the moment we met,” says Fields. “Within just a few minutes of our introductory meeting, we had agreed to and mapped out a set of collaborative initiatives.”
One of those ventures was to extend an invitation to LCCC to appear on “Onward with 1804“, a video podcast production hosted by Raechelle Gray, Vogt Innovator and founder of Greater Works Design Studio, and produced by 1804EC’s Justin Bailey. LCCC’s spot on the Onward show allowed Kevin Fields and Shawn Summerville, project coordinator of the Ali BLVD corridor development project to share information about entrepreneurial opportunities associated with the project. 1804EC is also exploring the potential of offering office hours at LCCC’s Old Walnut Street campus. And, plans are underway to host a “Start-up Grind” event on September 21st, 6pm to 9pm at LCCC, as well.
It certainly appears that the vision collectively shared by LCCC and 1804EC, to advance entrepreneurship and create positive change upon west Louisville’s economic landscape, is quickly gaining momentum through these early collaborative strategies.
